How to Replace the Internal Battery in a Laptop - Asus X200CA

Welcome back to my blog, this time I will make a post about Asus X200 CA laptop or netbook. This laptop at that time was quite famous and much in demand by buyers. Apart from being quite pocket-friendly, the model of this laptop is quite good, thin and light, plus a 12-inch screen size, it is very fitting to say that this laptop is the ideal laptop for everyone.

But keep in mind that the specifications of this laptop are only Intel Celeron so don't expect too much when you want to do graphic design or even play games, it's better to find another laptop with qualified specifications. But if it's just for going online and making articles and office supplies, I think this laptop can be relied on.

After discussing the advantages of this laptop, now is the time to discuss the disadvantages of this laptop, one of which is using a battery that is embedded inside the laptop cover, so when changing the battery we have to disassemble the cover first and then remove the battery. Not only Asus laptops, other types of laptops and brands also use built-in batteries like this. Maybe this is done so that the physical body of the laptop remains thin and slim.

After repairing this type of laptop a few times, yesterday I had a client who brought an Asus X200 CA laptop whose battery no longer wanted to store electricity. So when the charger is removed, the laptop will immediately turn off. I think this laptop was just bought in a new condition, but why is the battery breaking like this so quickly?.

Steps to Replace the Internal Battery in a Laptop

  1. Without thinking, I immediately disassembled the laptop by removing the screws under the laptop.

  2. After all the screws are removed, gently pry the edges of the laptop.

  3. Don't forget there is also a screw under the rubber pad of the laptop, first pry the rubber pad like in the picture above.

  4. After that, we disassemble the cover from the laptop and remove the keyboard cable and touchpad cable.

  5. Once open you will see the battery on the front under the LCD. The shape of the battery is the same as the battery that is not planted, but the protector of this battery is quite thin, unlike the laptop battery on the outside.

  6. Once removed we can replace the battery with a new battery. For the price of a battery like this, it is quite standard for an imitation or EOM around 35 usd while the original is 60 usd.

  7. After replacing the battery with a new one, it's time to close the laptop cover again and don't forget to re-plug the keyboard and touchpad cables that were removed. If you forget and the cable is not plugged back in, your laptop might not work.

  8. Once closed, it's time to bolt back to make it strong and re-install the bearings that were removed.

That's all for this post, hopefully it will be useful and leave a comment if you have any questions. See you in my other post..
